…I’m at the planning and research stage for a mining client – that means I’ll go through their site to identify what works well and what opportunities there are for them to make it work better. I’ll look at their competitors’ sites too, and that means not only other mining sites but also the type of sites their target audience – investors and possible candidates for example -would look at. I’ll consider what may be of interest to them in their world to help build expectations of what sort of content/look they’re used to. Then I’ll plan and create architecture, critical paths for users and write strategy recommendations – that will then be agreed with the client so I can go onto the scope and design of the site, and finally the build.
One of my Project Managers is handling the development of a site for a retail client. My role now – having previously been a Project Manager - is to ensure the expectations set by the scope are delivered so I catch up with him on a daily basis to check progress, execution detail and to act as a sounding board for any decisions.
We’ve got another project at QA/testing stage and that’s all about making sure the measurement requirements and objectives we agreed with the client have been met.
Lastly, I’ve been working with the team to develop a CMS for the TMP internal online newsletter. It’s project managed by the CEO’s Executive Assistant and this will let her manage and administrate the content and production of the newsletter without needing any technical input from the Interactive team.
